Dr. Mobley Smith

Miriam A. Mobley Smith, UIC PharmD ’95, FASHP, is Interim Dean at the University of Hawai’i at Hilo Daniel K. Inouye College of Pharmacy. She served as Evaluation Consultant for ACPE, Interim Dean and Visiting Professor at Northeastern University Bouvé College of Health Sciences School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dean and Professor at Chicago State University College of Pharmacy, and faculty at University of Illinois at Chicago College of Pharmacy.

She is member of University Health Partners of Hawai’i Board of Directors, past-chair of the Board of Directors for ACCESS Community Health Center Network, and former member of the Chicago Pharmacists Association Foundation Board, Board of Trustees for Chicago State University, AgeOptions Board of Directors, Chair of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Advisory Panel on Outreach and Education, Vice-Chair of the Illinois State Board of Pharmacy, and Institute of Medicine Committee on the Future Healthcare Workforce for Older Americans. She has held leadership roles for AACP, APhA, ASHP, ICHP, IPhA, ABHP, and PTCB.

She has delivered over 300 invited presentations. Her recognitions include 2022 ASHP Board of Directors Distinguished Leadership Award, 2018 University of Michigan Alumni Service Award in Pharmacy, 2013 Illinois Pharmacists Association and 2005 Illinois Council of Health-System Pharmacists “Pharmacist of the Year”, National Pharmaceutical Association’s 2012 Chauncey I. Cooper and 2004 James N. Tyson Awards, 2011 AgeOptions Service Award, 2006 Illinois Area Agencies on Aging Achievement Award, and 2005 Aetna Profiles of African American Pharmacists.

Dr. Mobley Smith received her BS in Pharmacy from the University of Michigan, PharmD from the University of Illinois at Chicago, pharmacy practice residency at Sinai Hospital of Detroit, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Primary Health Care Policy Fellowship, and Measurement, Design and Analysis Methods for Health Outcomes Research Certificate from Harvard University School of Public Health.
